“We need to communicate the new level of simplicity that we offer, as the environment in which we operate can be really complex. We need to simplify our interactions and communications with our customers even further. We also need to convey that we are more than just a commodity supplier of wooden pallets.”

The delivery
- We focused on key benefit messages, delivered in as direct and straight-talking a manner as possible.
- We highlighted the contrast between the complexity of running a business and the pleasing simplicity of CHEP’s solutions.
- We also stepped outside of pure marketing to rethink key elements of CHEP’s service process – including their invoicing system – so that they’d better dovetail with this central idea of seamless, minimalist simplicity.
- CHEP’s invoicing system, for example, was completely overhauled. Estimations of pricing can be complex for CHEP’s customers, so we designed a price-finding tool that greatly simplified and sped up this process.
- The brand messaging was communicated through an array of channels – including video – and we also deployed internal messaging to rally the workforce around the new ‘Simplicity for the Customer’ proposition.
