Finishing university can be a daunting prospect. Having to leave the warm arms of education and enter the big wide working world can throw up all sorts of questions. Luckily for us, some people just get on with it. Rachel recently joined Upp as an account executive while she was still completing her degree in Digital Media/Marketing at Manchester Metropolitan University. Unsurprisingly, she also took our new starter quiz in her stride! See what she has to say…

Where is your favourite place in the world?

I really loved Manchester the moment I moved here. It would be perfect if it wasn’t for the weather! So that being said I went to New York for my 18th birthday and fell in love with the place.

What are you currently watching on Netflix?

It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, The Great British Bake off, Gilmore Girls. A bit of a mixed bag of different shows.

What do you love most about your job?

Doing something new every day and getting to work with people who are inspiring and passionate about their jobs.

Where are you from?

I wish it was somewhere more exotic, but Wrexham in North Wales. Cymru am byth!

What was your first ever job?

My first proper job was as soon as I left school working on the checkout in the local supermarket. Before that me and my friend would get paid by her sister to do her paper round for her, I think she made a good profit!

What was the last book you read?

The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood. I still need to watch the TV series, hopefully it will live up to such a great book.

Who would play you in the movie of your life?

I conducted a survey with my friends and the decision was made to cast Mila Kunis. I’m not complaining.

What’s your proudest work achievement?

Being able to start my career straight after university (technically while I was still in university).

Thanks Rachel!
